It was launched in march this year, started operating in August. It was founded by Courage Msimanga, then joined  by a partner Thandokuhle Sibanda, who is a poet, published author and musician. Then Admire Ndlovu joined the team in Finance. Then they have Ezra Matiasi a graphics designer and also  have Stewart Ngwenya, who is the programs manager, and also responsible for PR. Last but not least, a trainee programs officer, her name's Evidence Kaparongo.

SHIELD have ran the With Her Own Hands Initiative ( an entrepreneurial skills training hub for young women and girls), in Pumula at the Pumula home & craft and also in Mpopoma at the You Have It In You Foundation. The organization then ran the Sister to Sister talks in October at the You Have It In You Foundation, we had Rachel Voko (poet) and Sibo Hlabangane, Founder of Hosea women international and the panelists. Later they also hosted a financial literacy workshop in December at the BICC Lobengula, focused mainly on cultivating entrepreneurial aptitudes and commercialization of raw talents. As an organization that centers on a girl child, their team went an extra mile to organize the Big Debate, addressing issues affecting women and girls.

The year 2020 seems to be a fully packed year for SHIELD. Taking a glimpse at their new year schedule such as  to host a free forex training workshop for young girls in January to enhance their financial independence, they are also looking to host the Sister to Sister every quarter of the year, a concert on the tree planting day and also run the Pads 4 girls campaign from March.

The organization is regarded as one of a kind as it works towards supporting a girl child to have an independent life that has access to opportunities.
